You may think the biggest decision to take while designing your room is to choose the tile. But the truth is that choosing the right grout color is just as important. Tile grout plays a big role in the final look and feel of the design.
You can play with the grout colors to enhance or create varying shapes and effects.
When the grout color matches the tile , the tile shape and pattern is less noticeable. The more contrast the more the shape of the tile stands out. Using a contrasting grout such as a gray grout with a white tile is a strong design statement.
If you are using colored tile, don’t try to find a matching grout color instead use a warmer neutral color. If you want to highlight a color or accent in your tile, like the gray veins in a marble tile, go for a close match, or a bit darker than that shade in your tile. Grout, especially cement-based grout, can darken over time, especially in high-traffic areas.
When it comes to colorful mosaics you want to see the shape and pattern of the tile so soft contrast is best if these tiles connect to a tiled floor take a cue from the floor to decide and to create a strong connection between the wall and floor.
It’s best to use a grout color chart so you can pull out the chips to see how they look against your tile.
A general worry about grout whether or not they become mouldy or discolor. By opting for high-quality grouts you won’t have this issue. In our projects we use Litokol products to make sure the final result will be impeccable.
